First magazine that we will present in our new “Editorial Design Inspiration” section is an award winning British magazine called Huck.
For the last eight years their creative team has been designing independent film magazine Little White Lies and youth culture magazine Huck.
HUCK is a global magazine exploring the many facets of radical culture, be it surf , skate, snow, music, art, activism, pop culture, the environment and the world.
I first stumbled upon Huck several years ago when they received award for the best cover by British society of Magazine Editors. Their layout follows closely the topics they cover although it is not as radical as they call themselves, which is good in my opinion.
Soon they will publish a book about their creative process named Curious Iconic Craft, which celebrates innovative design from 85 issues of the award-winning magazines. The book reveals techniques, creative processes and never-before-seen details that go into designing two magazines that so many people love.
