What makes a house a home? With a family of architects and a degree in architecture between them, Thomas Manss and Enrica Corzani, after years of working with the world’s most famous architects, have decided to adopt Adele Bacci and Massimo Alvito’s project: HomeSapiens.

“Norman Foster once said, “I believe the quality of our surroundings can lift the quality of our lives. Our surroundings change our lives and our lives shape our surroundings. So HomeSapiens team jumped at the opportunity to look at the subject through personal experiences of everyday lives”; Thomas Manss explains the origin of their involvement in the HomeSapiens project.

The magazine revolves around the theme of home. “In English there are two words, house and home; one means the building and the other means the life within it. In Italian such distinction does not exist. HomeSapiens talks about homes not houses” according to Enrica Corzani “and as an architect I believe there is nothing more mysterious and fascinating at the same time, than what happens to a building after it’s been lived in.”

Thomas Manss Company is pleased to announce the release of the issue titled,”My home is an adorable mess”. It is dedicated to disorder but also to the fragility of living. From Kobo Abe and his life in a cardboard box to Iain McKell and his nomadic years with gypsies, all the stories—through the voices of their extraordinarily diverse characters—tell with intimacy and affection… what makes a house a home.
